This Week at

The Knitter's Edge

This past week I was so amazed at the out- pouring of knitters and crocheters willing to help make chemocaps for our community. There were many that heard about our project and stopped into the shop for the first time just to get yarn or patterns for this chemocap drive. We are so grateful for each and every one of you.

Long Eared Bunny & Fishy Tawashi

Tuesday evening my night class will handle both of these projects. Those finishing the Long Eared Bunny will be joined by those wishing to knit the Fishy Tawashi- a recent favorite in the washcloth class. Sign up - space is limited.

Technique Class- Seaming

Stephanie's technique classes have been so fast to fill up- we are adding more sessions. Next week: on Wednesday morning Steph will hold the seaming class. This time the class will be limited to 10 students due to a larger room being available. Sign up now!

Washcloth Class

This Thursday we will get back to learning something new- This diagonal cloth is constucted with short rowing in the second half. Bring size 7 needles. Yarn will be provided.

Saturday March 20

My First Vest

This worsted weight vest is constructed in one piece- no sewing. The minimal shaping is perfect for the beginner, or the knitter who wants to try their first real project- a vest for themselves! I suggest you come in prior to class time to pick out yarn.

Saturday, April 24

All day Fair Isle Class with Linda Miller

The next 2 handed fair isle class will be held the last Saturday in April. The next class and all future classes on this technique will be limited to 12 students. 4 seats are still available.

Chemocaps

Last week I included an email form a local nurse about the chemocap shortage at St Luke's hospital. SInce then we have been flooded with requests for chemocap patterns and appropriate yarn for making them.

Many, many thanks to all of you for this. The generosity of our knitters and crocheters is overwhelming. We will collect chemocaps and send them to St Luke's as we receive them.

I have also been asked that if we get a large number, to please save some for the hospice unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital. I of course said we would.

So I guess we will be making chemo caps for some time to come. Free patterns and chemocap yarns will be available at all times- just ask.
