Great American Afghan Squares
With Diana
Diana is undertaking a wonderful, yet monumental project- The Great American Afghan.
You can join her to make the afghan, or to just try you hand at these by making just a pillow (only 2 squares). Work on one square at a time with Diana. The first square she knit is the acorn leaf square as seen here.

Socks on 2 circs with Pat
Last Saturday Pat started a new sock of the month, This month she has chosen a simple stitch pattern- but one that teaches a new technique- knitting backwards! The sock is called Puppy Love and will look best in a self striping sock yarn- and we have many to choose from including the new Fingerpaints from Cherry Tree Hill (see more below on this yarn). You can join up at any time.

Toys with Steph
Steph's last toy was an adorable little Bunny named Daisy. I don't know what her next toy will be, but she is really into this toy knitting so I am sure it will be something irresistable.
Come into the shop to see Steph's Toy menagerie. It is a fasinating collection.

Tuesdays & Thursdays
6:30 - 8:30 PM with Linda Miller
You have learned the 2 handed Fair Isle technique- now put it to good use knitting this Felted Fair Isle Tote. Feel free to join the class even if you haven't taken the 2 handed fair Isle class as long as you have had some Fair Isle experience in the past.
Linda has several other Fair Isle projects in mind- join one of her classes to see what she has come up with.
By the way- you can freely come to either of Linda's classes- Tuesday or Thursday. So if one week the Tuesday works best- come then, and the next week- Thursday of it suits your schedule better.

Socks with Eileen
Eileen started April with a new sock knit with a brand new yarn by Cherry Tree Hill. Its called Fingerpaints. Cheryl Potter- owner & master dyer of CTH has discovered a way to make a self striping handpaint sock yarn. We have the first products from her dyepots at The Knitter's Edge. The base yarn is her signature Supersock Select- spun in Peru just for her.
The colorways are new and exciting. Eileen has chosen Morning Glory- a blend of purples and greens that says Spring all day long!

Thursday April 8

Washcloths with JoAnne
 This Thursday morning we will feature a new Slip Stitch patterned washcloth. Learn to work slip stitch patterns with this easy to knit cloth. You will need 2 colors of Fantasy Naturale cotton- we will supply 1 hank- you should try to bring a small amount of another color. Worked on size 7 needles.

Washcloths with JoAnne
Next week (Tuesday-April 13) we celebrate Spring with a flower wash cloth. This cloth is knit in pieces (the 5 petals) which are then connected and knit to the center on a 16" circular followed by double pointed needles. A good learning experience. You will need a 16" size 7 or 8 plus double pointed needles in size 7 or 8. We supply the yarn.

Join Any of Pat's Classes for The Brandywine Shawl
You may join any of Pat's classes and work on this new shawl. The Brandywine Shawl. Pat is knitting it out of Hand Maiden Sea Silk- a Silk/ Sea cell blend that has incredible drape and luxurious shine and color. Just one hank makes this easy lace shawl.

One of the new yarns we have just received is a lovely pure silk- with a rustic yet soft hand. The colors are so subtly blended. This will make a magnificant shawl. The price of this silk is amazingly reasonable.

New Chemo cap pattern |

Jen recently finished a lovely chemo cap knit in Jeannee Worsted.
This is indeed a hat for that special friend in need. Free pattern is available at the shop. We have been blessed to collect many hats in the past few weeks, but unfortunately we need more. If you haven't knit one yet- please stop by; pick up one ball of Jeannee and a free pattern and get knitting.

Ok we lied... We said that the Encore- odd balls would be in the pool for just one week, but we have way too many odd dye lot balls. So we will keep this yarn in the pool for just a few more days- until Thursday. On Fiday- a new yarn will be in the pool.
Encore is filling the Pool this week. All odd dyelot balls of Encore Worsted have been cleared off of the shelves to fill the pool this week. Great for the many one ball projects for worsted yarn as well as for Fair Isle or striping work. Terrific deal at only $3.50 each- while they last.
