Milly's first class with us was held on Thursday morning- it was fabulous! Everyone loved her- great personality and great teaching ability. Everyone learned a lot about lace structure, and got started on their own scarf.
If you missed the first class, the same session will be held next Tuesday evening from 6:30 - 8:30. There are still openings in this class, but call soon. Part 2 of these classes will be next Thursday morning 10:00 - 12:00 and Tuesday, June 15-- 6:30 - 8:30.
The new My First Lace Chart Classes with our new teacher Milly will be held on Thursday mornings June 3, and 10, and on Tuesday evenings June 8, and 15.
Bring paper and pen to take notes and size 8 needles- straight ones are fine. You will need 2 balls of yarn- either Pure Pima by Berocco or Somerset by Plymouth. We have both yarns in a wide range of colors. |

AFGHAN CHALLENGE |
|
|
 |
We have information available at the shop on the Afghan Challenge. Come in and pick up a sheet. I will soon be holding additional class sessions on designing your own square.
The Challenge is for each shop to knit 20 afghan squares out of Encore Worsted- each a 12" square. These 20 best squares will be judged on their creativity, beauty, etc. Then, 20 overall winners will be chosen from the 40 squares provided by the 2 shops. The shop that has the most "winning squares" will receive a pizza party provided by the losing shop. All squares will be sewn into afghans to be auctioned off for charity. Our charity of choice is Turning Point. All squares must be knit out of Encore Worsted- fall palette colors. Each will take less than 1 ball of yarn. All entries must be in by July 17.

Pat is taking on another new project this month- an entrelac triangular shawl called Dianna. Marilyn's Summer Schedule |

Marilyn will be teaching several classes each week with us this summer. An additional kid's class will be held every Wednesday morning 10:00 - 12:00. This class time is a very nice one as any mothers who wish to knit can attend Pat's class held at the same time. Marilyn will still be holding her Thursday evening Kids class from 6:30 - 8:30 every Thursday and her every other Saturday afternoon class- 1:00 - 3:00 beginning this Saturday, June 5.
A big addition for us which has all of us excited is that Marilyn will be teaching an adult class each week as well! This will begin Thursday, June 24 from 2:00 - 4:00 (note the time). Her first project will be an American Girl Doll Sweater. She also has some other ideas up her sleeve like this felted Hobby Horse. Can't wait to see him once he is felted and attached to a stick!
