Monday, October 24-- 1:00 - 3:00 pm Beaded Scarf Class with Dee
Dee has agreed to run another Beaded Scarf class for us in the afternoon on Monday October 24. This is a terrific class that we have held several times before. The scarves that come out of this class are amazingly beautiful. Sign up soon as there is limited space.
Call for more details. You will need to come in prior to class date to puchase your yarn. Then you need to get beads (956) and preload half of them onto 1 ball of the DK weight yarn. Size 5 or 6 straight needles are needed.

MARILYN'S KIDS CLASS THIS SATURDAY!
Marilyn's Saturday Kids class- Marilyn's Saturday afternoon kids knitting classes are a whole bunch of fun- she has so many great project ideas to share. The class will be meeting this Weekend- Saturday Oct 22 1:00 - 3:00.

Linda Miller's Wednesday classes- both morning and afternoon.
Linda Miller is one wonderful teacher- tackling anything from beginner projects to fancy fair isle. Work on whatever project you like in either class session. Maybe take on a new Felted Fair Isle Bag.

Monday Thrummed Mittens-- October 31
Jackie will be
continuing her Thrummed mittens class on Monday October 31.
You will need 1--100g ball of a worsted weight yarn- we suggest Worsted Merino Superwash. We will have the roving available at class time. Bring needles- size 7-double points, 2 circs or magic loop. This is a great project!
The one most near and dear to my heart is my Little Emily's very first pattern: She knit the soft pink Baby Alpaca Grande double stranded on a size 15 needle for a very fast project: a keyhole scarf. One hank is all that you need. Get this pattern free at the shop with your yarn purchase.
In the afternoon Iris will be holding a workshop class teaching students how to make her Chevron Ruana. 
After tea, there will be some hands on work while Jenny demonstrates her favorite knitting tips and techniques. Lots of knitted garments from her latest Noro book "City Girls" will be on hand to inspire you. 
We already showed off this yarn- and the fantastic scarf on the cover of the fall Debbie Bliss Magazine.
This is a very blurry extreme close up shot of a single stitch- why??? Cause thats all Amanda had time to get done. She has been working so very hard this week getting things set up for our 2 big upcoming events: Visits with Jenny Watson and Iris Schreier. No time to knit. So I will go easy on her this week.
My favorite yarns are cottons by far- especially unmercerized or lightly mercerized ones. The process of mercerization makes a cotton stronger, firmer, shinier, and less fuzzy. I love the softness of cotton, so my prefernce is for the lightly mercerized one. My favorite cotton of all time is a now discontinued product from Cherry Tree Hill called North Country Cotton. I will always be on the lookout for a similar product- and when I find it- we will have it at The Knitter's Edge 
For needles- I have always been particularily fond of Crystal Palace needles. The warm resin finish on these needles makes for a sleek ride for the stitches.
Now for a Knitting Bag- I love an open bag- one that will stand up- with a large opening- all one its own. I seem to judge a bag by how well it will stand open on the ground at my feet at a baseball game. If it flops over so I can't pull on the yarn- then its a "no go" for me. I have found that the Doctors style bags from Atenti seem to fit my need pretty well.

And we did figure out how to add a wreath to the front door- Thanks Milly- crocheting did it! Look how it so nicely dresses it up!
