Thursday March 8- 10:00 - 12:00 class with JoAnne

Last week we began our trek toward knitting up a REAL doily. We will be taking it in steps- first of all is a small doily type coaster. Knitting on small needles??- we can do it!!
Bring size 3 or 4 needles, both a 16" circular and double points. Also some stitch markers will be helpful. Yarn available at the shop.
And if thats too much for you- work the small cloth doily knit in Fantasy Naturale, as seen below.

Bring double points and a 16" circular needle size 3, 4 or 7, depending on which project you wish to do. This is going to be fun, and quite a learning experience. For this one you need a half ball of Fantasy Naturale, and size 7 needles- both a 16" circular and double points.
Stitch markers will be helpful. Yarn available at the shop as well.
If neither doily is to your liking- try knitting an entire Apartment building! For this one bring size 7 needles and a generous half ball of Fantasy Naturale ( that means over 50g). Yarn available in class as well.
Wow!

Saturday March 3- babies need to be warm
Try your hand at a baby sweater or blanket
10:00 - 12:00 class with JoAnne
I want one more week of this class- I really encourage everyone to try one of these sweaters. These are 2 terrific patterns.

| Knitbot sweater |
Knit up this really fun baby sweater. This is the one I knit, and I truely did enjoy the pattern. The pattern is sized all the way up to a finished 61" ( thats even too big for me) so we can truely say there is a size on this pattern for EVERYBODY!
 |
| Baby and Bears Cardigan |
Now this is an absolute classic! On Saturday, I think I will start one of these myself. Since almost any weight yarn will do, I have a lot of choices. If you have any opinions- please help me to decide what yarn to do. This makes up into a newborn to 3 month size in a DK weight, or a 6- 12 month size in a worsted.
Even chunky can be used to produce a 24 size. Choices, choices...

| 8 hour baby afghans |
Baby Blanket - There are over 20 patterns available for "8 hour baby afghans". Each blanket needs just 4 balls of Encore and a 24" circular size 13. They knit up fast!

The March socks are coming!!
Pat's March socks are now complete. These look GREAT!! She calls them her shy shamrocks socks. The sock shines in a soft green color, with green beads and shamrocks adorning the cuffs. Pat is using K1C2's Pediwick sock yarn--a non wool yarn containing Bamboo and nylon- with plenty of stretch.
Eileen started working on her March socks this past weekend - she chose our newest sock yarn- Smooshy by Dream in Color. Eileen chose a lovely Blue Green handpaint shade for her own pair.
PAT AND EILEEN'S WEEKLY SOCK CLASSES ARE HELD ON SATURDAYS 1:00 - 3:00 PM
