NEW Beginner crochet class with Amy

Last tweek Amy held a class on crochet flowers. WOW!! What a crowded class! I guess Amy hit upon a winner here. We will do this class again- and soon. But for right now- we have to stay on crochet schedule...
So for this week- Amy will be teaching the treble crochet stitch by making these shamrocks. Please bring a size G or H crochet hook and just a couple of extra dollars to purchase the yarn kit to make them. We will have small inexpensive kits available in Fantasy Naturale and Encore Worsted. They make a great embellishment or a lapel pin.
This is one of the fastest growing classes we have. Amy is terrific and she is showing how much fun crochet can be!
ALSO- please note... Amy encourages all to work on a crochet project of their own choice. The featured project of week is just a suggestion- and its usually a fun one too.

Winged Shawl with Jackie-

This is a wonderful pattern- surprisingly simple yet impressive as can be. Make yours out of any fingering, DK or even worsted weight yarn- striping ones seem to look the best. Make it as long as you wish. With just 2 balls of Noro Silk Garden Sock, Jackie knit hers as shown here. She added a button tab to allow her to wear it as a capelet.
For the Shawl, bring size 8-- 24" circulars, but remember- you may need to change to another size needle, depending on your yarn choice.

Thursday, March 8- 10:00 - 12:00 class with JoAnne

Last week we began our trek toward knitting up a REAL doily. We will be taking it in steps- first of all is a small doily type coaster. Knitting on small needles??- we can do it!!
Bring size 3 or 4 needles, both a 16" circular and double points. Also some stitch markers will be helpful. Yarn available at the shop.
And if thats too much for you- work the small cloth doily knit in Fantasy Naturale, as seen below.

Bring double points and a 16" circular needle size 3, 4 or 7, depending on which project you wish to do. This is going to be fun, and quite a learning experience. For this one you need a half ball of Fantasy Naturale, and size 7 needles- both a 16" circular and double points.
Stitch markers will be helpful. Yarn available at the shop as well.
If neither doily is to your liking- try knitting an entire Apartment building! For this one bring size 7 needles and a generous half ball of Fantasy Naturale ( that means over 50g). Yarn available in class as well.
Wow!
