Thursday April 19

Washcloth Class with JoAnne

Learn to use the provisional cast on

This lovely little spiral knit cloth can and should be started with a provisional cast on which is later removed so you can work the kitchener stitch to put it together.  Its time we learned to do this!  Join me on Thursday.  We will start and knit up the cloth one week and do the finishing the second week (while we also start another project).  Bring size 7 needles and 1/2 ball of Fantasy Naturale if you have it.  You know we have it available at the shop.  I will provide the scrap yarn for the cast on.

Wednesdays continuing April 18 6:30 - 8:30 pm

Crochet Fair Isle with Milly

Crochet Fair Isle???  I have never heard of that!  Well, Milly has come up with a way and she is willing to share her new found knowledge.

Take a look at what Milly has created here.   This is a great way to use up  your stash.  Only a knowledge of single crochet is needed.  Wow- how's that for easy!

Milly asks that you bring at least 2 colors in the worsted weight yarn of your choice, plus a size H crochet hook.

Technique classes-

Monday May 7: 1:00 - 3:00

Seaming Class- Class limited to 14 students

I will be holding technique classes on alternate Mondays - or as often as I can.  These are individual classes- you can sign up for one or several  And more technique classes are coming too!

These are good classes if I don't say so myself!  You will learning something- I guarantee it!

In the seaming class you will learn how to make your garments look more professional.

More classes will follow including Fixing Mistakes, Cast ons & Bind offs, and my newest addition: Gauge and Picking up sts for a band.

Please call to sign up!  It will fill up fast.  Also- keep your eyes on the newsletter- I will add classes as fast as I can.

Tuesdays April 17   4:00 - 6:00 pm

Baby Sweater with Lori

This week Lori started a new baby sweater- this is a multidirectional garment-  with a one piece construction.  There's a lot of learning here!  This will be fun.

You will need worsted weight yarn- (200g) and size 7 or 8 needles.  The sweater as shown will fit 3-6 months.

Lori is starting a second baby sweater- this time using Classic  Worsted Tapestry.

This yarn has distinct stipes, like the Classic Worsted LP, with a bit of fair Isle look in between.  2 balls is all that you will need.

Saturday 10:00 - 12:00 with JoAnne

Everyone just adores the Linen Stitch Scarf knit in Koigu.  We have come up with a fast way for you to learn to work the Linen Stitch with ease- by making a bookmark!  In my 2 classes this week- you can knit up this project while gaining the expertise to do the scarf.  Bring about 10g of a sock yarn- or use one of our 10g balls for only $1.00 ( while they last).

Dottie's Linen Stitch Scarf is so pretty, it has enticed so many people to try it!  Now try a bookmark first to learn the method.

April 19- Thursday 1:00 - 3:00 pm

NEW Beginner crochet class with Amy

Next week Amy will be working on a felted coaster crocheted out of 3 colors of Galway.  It is beautiful even before felting!

Bring some Galway if you have some, but we do have kits available- containing 3 colors for a low price.  Bring size K hook.

This is one of the fastest growing classes we have.  Amy is terrific and she is showing how much fun crochet can be!

ALSO- please note...  Amy encourages all to work on a crochet project of their own choice.  The featured project of week is just a suggestion- and its usually a fun one too.

Wednesdays with Linda Miller

10:00 - 12:00 and 1:00 - 3:00

Scarf on Mary

This week Linda started to teach a new sideways scarf/cowl knit in Feather & Fan.

She knit this cowl in our new Ayatori by Noro.  The soft hand and springlike colors make for a great warm weather cowl.  For a more Fall look, you can work this cowl in the new Silk Garden Lite.  Bring a 24" circular size 5 or 6.

Scarf on Model

The scarf here is knit in several colors.  Our Ayatori version is knit in one colorway.

Monday April 16-- 10:00 - 12:00 pm

Class with Jackie

Jackie will continue working on an Entrelac scarf next week- using either our new Ayatori or Silk Garden Lite.  Bring size 6 needles.

Thursdays 6:30 - 8:30 pm Continuing April 19

Men's Class

We have started a men's class! Joe- a local knitter, Pints & Purls attendee,  and raveler has agreed to lead the class. So calling all men- whether you are a knitter or a crochetter- please give this new group a try. Please call to sign up. Bring any current project, and we will see where we go from there.

NOTE from Joe:

Joe would really like to do a group project.  His idea is to try felted house slippers (big felted socks).  These can easy for those who are beginners, or embellished with cables or Fair Isle to challenge those who are more advanced knitters.

Friday Mornings & Afternoons with Debra

Continuing April 13!

Debra is teaching everyone the Magic Loop technique while working on 2 socks at a time.  Any sock yarn will do!!

You will need a 40" long needle in a size that works with your chosen yarn.

In mid April, Debra will be starting toe up socks using Magic Loop!!

 April socks are here!

Pat's April Socks are knit using our new Koigu along with a solid sock yarn.  Eileen's April socks are knit out of Koigu as well: take a look!

Wednesday afternoons with Eileen

Eileen's Wednesday afternoon class (4:00 - 6:00) has chosen to work on a sampler afghan themselves!

Here is Eileen's latest square- not blocked yet, so Eileen and I are holding it out flat; but you can tell how lovely it is.  Below see some of her other squares.  This is a great long term project- join in anytime.

New classes just keep on coming!

Remember, in our classes-you can always do your own thing!

Here is where you will find information on whats going on in both our regular and specialty classes. What new projects are being tackled?
All regular classes are $6.00- Cash only please.

General Knitting classes - work on your own project if you wish! When you are a class member- we welcome you to return at any time for additional assistance. We will always help any knitter get through a project- we are great at hand holding, while encouraging you to move forward in your knitting knowledge.

For classes, we hope that your yarn supplies will be purchased at our shop.
